[. . . ] An overbow is recommended in order to prevent the ingress of oil into the equalizer line. The bulb should preferably be positioned on the upper half of a horizontal suction line but never after a liquid trap. As a general rule,  bulbs of expansion valves should be insulated to prevent them being affected by the ambient temperature. When soldering the valve,  the valve body must not get warmer than 100 °C.  constructive modifications at the valve are not allowed. Do not bend or squeeze the bulb when thightening the bulb clamp. Note: With gas charged valves (indication on the valve head = MOP) during operation as well as during rest period the bulb must be the coldest spot of the valve.
