Refer also to the user manual which accompanies your PC and video adapter to ensure this equipment is correctly installed. 1 Make sure that your PC and monitor are switched off. 2 Connect the video cable (it has a 15-pin plug) to the video outlet on your PC. 3 Connect the power cord to the monitor. 4 Plug the power cord into a grounded power outlet. 1 PC and Monitor OFF 2 Video cable 3 4 Power cords NOTE The location of your PC's video outlet may be different to the one shown in the diagram. You can adjust the quality, position, size and shape of the displayed image using the controls on the front of the monitor to operate on screen menus. Brightness Contrast Status Indicator Select Button On/Off Switch Adjustment Controls Menu Button Menu 1 Menu 2 Operating On Screen Menus Pressing the MENU button activates the monitor's on screen menus. These menus contain the monitor's various adjustment features. You can select a feature using the SELECT button to scroll to the adjustment feature you require. There are two on screen menus: MENU 1 Pressing the MENU button once activates the first on screen menu. This menu allows you to adjust basic parameters such as quality, size and position of the displayed image. MENU 2 Pressing the MENU button twice activates menu 2. If you want to change the proportions of red, blue and green used by your monitor you will need to change the color temperature. To Select a Preset Color Temperature Your monitor is shipped with two preset color temperatures: 9300K and 6550K. COLOR TEMP. To adjust the color temperature select COLOR TEMP then select the required setting using the and adjustment controls. Adjusting the Color Temperature Setting You can adjust the red and blue color temperature levels of your monitor. R. GAIN To adjust the level of red in the displayed image select R. GAIN, then use the and adjustment controls to adjust the color level. To adjust the level of blue in the displayed image select B. GAIN, then use the and adjustment controls to adjust the color level. B. GAIN DEGAUSSING Degaussing keeps the monitor free from unwanted magnetism that can result in color impurity. To degauss the monitor, select from menu 2, then using the adjustment control select YES. Degaussing is accompanied by brief instability of the displayed image and a slight humming sound. It is recommended that you degauss at least every week. To revert to preset factory settings, select RECALL from menu 2, then using the adjustment control select YES. The higher the screen resolution, the more information you can see on the screen. It is recommended that you use a resolution of 800×600 at 85Hz.
