WARNING: There is a risk of explosion and injury if the battery is incorrectly replaced or handled improperly. Do not attempt to recharge, disassemble, immerse in water, or dispose of it in fire. Replacement should be done using the Compaq spare part for this computer. CAUTION: To prevent damaging the RTC battery cable, rock the connector from side to side to disconnect it.
To remove the Lithium Real Time clock (RTC) battery, complete the following steps: 1. Disconnect the AC power and any external devices (Section 7. 4. 1). Remove the battery pack (Section 7. 4. 3). Remove the DualBay device (Section 7. 4. 4). Remove the lithium real time clock (RTC) battery cover.

To remove the microphone and microphone/display cable cover, complete the following steps: 1. Disconnect the AC power and any external devices (Section 7. 4. 1). From the rear of the computer, remove two screws securing the microphone/display cable cover from the base enclosure.
