TouchPad
Description For use only with a black top cover Spare part number 607766-001
Before removing the TouchPad, follow these steps: 1. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 38). Service cover (see Service cover on page 40). Speakers (see Speakers on page 60).
Remove the TouchPad: 1. Turn the top cover upside down, with the front toward you. Release the TouchPad cable (1) from the top cover. (The TouchPad cable is attached to the top cover with double-sided adhesive). Remove the two Phillips PM2. 0×4. 0 screws (2) that secure the TouchPad bracket to the top cover. Release the TouchPad (4) by lifting the front edge until it rests at an angle.

Remove the TouchPad (5) by sliding it forward.
Reverse this procedure to install the TouchPad.
