The continuous file protection policies specify which file types are continuously protected by Data Protector for Notebooks and set the retention period for the previous versions kept for those file types. HP Data Protector for Notebooks and Desktops Software includes three example continuous file protection policies - Office Documents, Software Development, and Web Documents. You can start with these file protection policies or build your own. Click Policies in the left navigation pane. Click the Set the continuous file protection policies link under Pick a task . . . To edit one of the existing policies, click the Edit an existing continuous file protection policy link and then click the edit link beside the policy you want to change. -orTo create a new file protection policy, click the Create a new continuous file protection policy link. The Assigned File Types list shows all the file types currently assigned to this file protection policy. The Unassigned File Types list shows all the file types that are available for assignment. That is, it contains all the file types that are not assigned to any file protection policy. Note that an individual file type can be assigned to one and only one file protection policy. Move file types between the lists by clicking on the file type to select it and then click the <<< or >>> button as appropriate. You can use ctrl-click to select multiple file types.
