This guide is a troubleshooting reference used for maintaining and servicing the computer. It provides comprehensive information on identifying computer features, components, and spare parts; troubleshooting computer problems; and performing computer disassembly procedures.

Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps: 1. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system. Disconnect all external devices connected to the computer. Disconnect the power from the computer by first unplugging the power cord from the AC outlet, and then unplugging the AC adapter from the computer. Remove the battery (see "Battery" on page 4-7). Remove the accessory compartment cover (see "WLAN module" on page 4-9). Remove the hard drive (see "Hard drive" on page 4-18). Disconnect the wireless antenna cables from the WLAN module (see "WLAN module" on page 4-9) and WWAN module (see "WWAN module" on page 4-13). Remove the keyboard (see "Keyboard" on page 4-21). Remove the top cover (see "Top cover" on page 4-24).

Remove the display assembly: 1. Turn the computer display-side up, with the front toward you. Disconnect the display panel/webcam/microphone cable 1 from the system board. Remove the wireless antenna cables from the clips 2 and routing channel built into the base enclosure.
