Download and install the Altiris Deployment Server Web Console ActiveX control on the HP SIM CMS. Clear the Automatically discover a server blade when its Integrated Lights Out management processor is identified option. Click OK. 3. If you have enabled security in the Deployment Server Console, modify the synchronization utility configuration file with your console name and password. From a text editor, open the . \hpwebadmin\webapps\root\mxportal\dobby\scan. xml file, located in the HP SIM installation directory. Change the lines: <dsconsolecredentials> <name></name> <password></password> </dsconsolecredentials> to: <dsconsolecredentials> <name>myname</name> <password>mypassword</password> </dsconsolecredentials> where myname and mypassword are the user name and password for a Deployment Server Console account with administrator-level privileges. 4. If you plan to deploy servers using Linux or VMware scripted install jobs, perform the following steps on the Deployment Server to enable HP SIM to identify these servers after deployment: a. From a text editor, open the . \lib\software\yyyy\rdpinstall. dat file, where yyyy is the ProLiant Support Pack. See the instructions in the file to add the appropriate SNMP information. Repeat steps a and b for each version of the ProLiant Support Pack in the . \lib\software directory. Contents 8 4 Using the Rapid Deployment Pack SIM Integration Module With the Rapid Deployment Pack SIM Integration Module, you can perform the following tasks: · · Obtain information about new, undeployed servers from the Altiris Deployment Server database and import that information into the HP SIM database Select one or more Rapid Deployment Pack--Windows Edition-managed servers in the HP SIM console and use the Altiris Deployment Wizard to schedule a job on those servers The following menu items and associated task are integrated into the HP SIM console toolbar with the installation of the Rapid Deployment Pack SIM Integration Module. Contents 9 Synchronizing with Deployment Servers The Synchronize with Deployment Server task collects server information from the Deployment Server database and imports this information into the HP SIM database. After the Rapid Deployment Pack SIM Integration Module is installed, the synchronization task executes immediately and then automatically executes every 15 minutes. To change the frequency at which the synchronization task executes: 1. Select Tasks & Logs>View All Scheduled Tasks, and select the Synchronize with Deployment Servers task. Click Edit, change the schedule frequency as necessary, and click Done. To manually run the synchronization task at a time other than that which is scheduled, perform one of the following procedures: · · Select Tasks & Logs>View All Scheduled Tasks, and select the Synchronize with Deployment Servers task. Click Run Now to run the task immediately. Select Deploy>Rapid Deployment Pack>Synchronize with Deployment Servers to create a new task, and designate a time to run the task or click Run Now to run the task immediately. Scheduling a job The Schedule a Job menu item enables you to schedule a Rapid Deployment Pack job to run on Rapid Deployment Pack--Windows Edition-managed servers. NOTE: A maximum of 24 undeployed servers can be selected at a time from this menu item. NOTE: All the jobs on the Deployment Server are displayed.
