[. . . ] All-in-One Storage Manager
Issue: All-in-One Storage Manager agent not working properly on dual-home servers Description When an application server has more than one network interface connected to different subnets, the All-in-One Storage Manager (ASM) agent on the application server can appear to be unresponsive. This occurs when the ASM agent service is bound to the wrong network interface, which can lead to a number of connectivity related errors, such as discovery and job failures. One example of this type of failure is: Job execution failed: Failed to configure iSCSI initiator for host This failure occurs when using ASM to create new iSCSI application storage on an All-in-One Storage System.

Workaround Change the network interface priority so the ASM agent service binds to the correct network interface as follows: 1. Identify the network interface on which the application server is communicating to the All-in-One Storage System. [. . . ] The folder can now be deleted by an administrator. Repeat this process for any other folders that are inaccessible by administrators. Issue: All-in-One Storage Manager unable to complete discovery after user changes name of volume created by ASM Description After All-in-One Storage Manager (ASM) creates a volume on an application server, as part of hosting application storage, the volume's name cannot be changed. If the volume's name is changed, ASM will report a discovery failure.
Workaround Change the volume's name back to the name assigned by ASM. Issue: SQL Server uses simple backup and restore--no replaying of logs is possible Description All-in-One Storage Manager snapshots and backup will backup all data files and logs for a particular SQL Server database. The backup is a point-in-time backup, therefore recovery of data can only be done using a Simple Recovery model. Roll forward after a restore is not supported. For more information about this recovery model, see the Microsoft website: http://technet2. microsoft. com/WindowsServer/en/library/ 1d76e446-3122-4f2d-a696-1e260ae740f91033. mspx?mfr=true

All-in-One Storage Manager
Workaround Not applicable Issue: Instance(s) of SQL Server 2000 Enterprise not detected by All-in-One Storage Manager Description While using the Host a SQL Server Database Wizard, you receive an error message informing you that ASM cannot authenticate with the SQL Server. Each SQL Server instance must have a login for the local user called ASMUser with the server role defined as System Administrators. This login is created during the installation of the ASM agent on the server that hosts SQL Server; however, if another SQL Server instance is installed after the ASM agent is installed, or if the SQL Server instance was not running at install time, this login will not be configured.
Workaround To add a login for a local user called ASMUser to the SQL Server instance, you can remove the ASM agent from the server that hosts SQL Server, and then reinstall it following the instructions in the HP StorageWorks All-in-One Storage System quick start instructions (no information will be lost). Or, manually enter the login as follows: 1. Connect to the server with SQL Server data you want to store on your HP All-in-One Storage System. Select Actions > New Login from the menu bar. In the Domain box, enter the domain name for the server that hosts SQL Server. Select the System Administrators server role and click OK. Issue: Growing iSCSI LUN fails during heavy SQL Server load Description If a user migrates a SQL Server database to the All-in-One Storage System using All-in-One Storage Manager (ASM) and then later attempts to increase the storage space allocated to the database while there is heavy SQL Server usage, an ASM task failure may occur. The failure text is: Failed to grow iSCSI LUN After this failure occurs, ASM will also report that its discovery is failing.
Workaround Repeat the task to increase the allocated storage when there is less SQL Server load on the application server and the failure should not occur. To fix the related discovery issue, restart the Microsoft iSCSI Software Target service and then select Action > Refresh from the ASM menu bar. Issue: All-in-One Storage Manager migration tasks may fail after all available drives letters are consumed on application server Description When a task is performed using All-in-One Storage Manager (ASM) that includes creating a new drive on an application server that is already using all of its possible drive letters, the task will fail.
Workaround Unmount any unused volumes or network shares that are consuming drive letters on the application server and then repeat the task in ASM.

Issue:
Exchange Server 2007 logs an error (Event ID 9782 ) in event log when a snapshot is taken from All-in-One Storage Manager. Therefore, the used space on the logical disks is always near 100 percent. HP All-in-One Storage System Management detects the low disk space for any logical disk on the All-in-One Storage System, but does not currently filter out logical disks used by All-in-One Storage Manager.
Workaround Currently the only way to get rid of these warnings is to extend (increase the size of) the logical disk that is nearly full. HP recommends, however, that you simply ignore these warnings.
Data Protector Express
This section describes issues related to HP StorageWorks Data Protector Express running on All-in-One Storage Systems. [. . . ] [configuration] lastUser=ASMbackup nodeGuid={00001001-44BF7770-0010D9E7-0018CAB0} nodeName=STORAGEWORKSAIO databaseServerAddress=localhost isDatabaseServer=Yes databaseServerName=Data Protector Express Storage Domain disableNetwork=Yes remoteAdmin=No Issue: Disaster Recovery feature of Data Protector Express is not licensed Description When using the Disaster Recovery Wizard in Data Protector Express to create bootable media, the following error is displayed: Code: 131 (0x83) Message: Instance is not licensed. Description: The selected instance is not licensed for use.
Workaround Data Protector Express disaster recovery is an optional feature that is not included with the All-in-One Storage Systems as shipped.

Storage Manager for SANs
This section describes issues related to Storage Manager for SANs (a Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in) running on All-in-One Storage Systems. Storage Manager for SANs
Issue: Storage Manager for SANs crashes when used to configure storage (AiO400 only) Description The Storage Manager for SANs MMC snap-in looks for any direct attach storage on your All-in-One Storage System and allows actions such as Create LUN, Extend LUN, and so on. Many of these actions cause Storage Manager for SANs and the HP All-in-One Storage System Management console to crash on an AiO400.
Workaround Always use Adaptec Storage Manager to manually configure storage. [. . . ]
