The second and third columns display the FC port and LUN information respectively for the corresponding device, as it appears to that host HBA. Creating a custom device map You can define a custom device map for each host HBA. A Custom Map column shows on the Secure Manager screen, and two additional menu items, Edit Custom Device Map. . . and Delete Custom Device Map are displayed on the Actions menu. The word Yes in the Custom Map column indicates that the corresponding host HBA is using a custom device map. The device map shows how a particular host HBA "sees" the configuration within a library. If you are using Basic Secure Manager, the same custom device map is applied to all host HBAs. If you are using Advanced Secure Manager (license required), you can define a unique custom device map for each host HBA. CAUTION: HP recommends that you allow the Interface Manager card to configure device maps automatically. Creating custom device maps can increase the possibility of device conflicts and errors and is only intended for experienced users. In the Library window, click the Configuration tab. Do one of the following: · If the library is not partitioned, in the left panel, select Host Access (Secure Manager). · If the library is partitioned, in the left panel, under Host Access (Secure Manager), select the name of the partition. Click Actions > Advanced Options to open the Custom Device Maps dialog box. 4. Select the Allow Custom Device Maps check box, and then click OK to allow custom device maps.
