Description The HP StorageWorks IP Distance Gateway (mpx110) provides Fibre Channel SAN extension over an IP network. This product is used in conjunction with the EVA family of storage systems and Continuous Access EVA software to provide long distance remote replication for disaster tolerance. A base FCIP configuration consists of a minimum of two mpx110 gateways, one each for the local and remote site: · HP part number AG680A: HP StorageWorks IP Distance Gateway (single mpx110, one per site required) · For hardware redundancy, an additional IP Distance Gateway is available: HP part number AG681A: HP StorageWorks IP Distance Gateway Upgrade (single mpx110 for redundancy, one per site required). E-Port unknown with B-Series Fibre Channel switches using 5. 2. 0x firmware When connecting two B-Series fabrics through FCIP using IP Distance Gateways, Fibre Channel switches with firmware 5. 2. 0x may not successfully connect and report "E-Port unknown". Workaround Utilize B-Series Fibre Channel switch firmware version 5. 1. 1, 5. 1. 0d, 5. 0. 5x, or 3. 2x, based on the switch model in use. CLI-GUI FCIP route setup causes mpx110 hang When using the CLI to configure an FCIP route you have the option to configure FC1 with GE2. This option is not available through the GUI. [. . . ] The FCIP Route still functions normally, only the Ping test command fails. Workaround Configure the two FCIP Route in two different network subnets. GUI Ping command failures When using the mpx Manager and pinging a non-existent node; the mpx Manager returns successful status with a time of 0. 0 ms for the reply. Workaround Use the CLI Ping command rather then the mpx Manager version of the ping command. 4 mpx Manager GUI hangs When using the mpx Manager GUI and CLI simultaneously, certain conditions can cause the mpx110 to hang. Workaround Only use one management interface either the CLI or the GUI not both at the same time to manage the mpx110.
