Confirmation pane for completing Shredding operations When the Shredding operation is finished, a confirmation pane appears. This pane displays how often the volume was overwritten and the dummy data used each time the volume was overwritten. If you download a compression file (in . tgz format) by using this panel and then use file decompression software to decompress the compression file, you will obtain binary files containing the results of the shredding operation. The names of the binary files indicate CU and LDEV numbers of the shredded volumes, and the number of times dummy data have been written to the volumes. The filename also indicates that dummy data have been written to that volume three times. A binary file contains the first 512 bytes of data of a shredded volume (LDEV).
