The Administrator box on the main window provides access to the following Remote Control functions: Controller Provides access to the restricted disk array add/delete functions. This button is enabled only when the current user has administrator access. Provides access to the user management functions. This button is always enabled to allow all users to change their own passwords. Option Provides access to the add/delete option functions. This button is enabled only when the current user has administrator access privileges. The Exit button closes Remote Control. Getting started 67 Installing/Deinstalling options The option functions are: · installing an option · deinstalling an option Remote Control option functions are restricted to users with administrator access privileges. Option Product window The Option Product window allows for installation/deinstallation of license keys for each option. Access the Option Product window selecting the Option button in the Administrator box of the Remote Control main window or the Install button on the Connection Control window. The Option List box displays the options and their current installation status, which is either [Install] or [Not install]. The buttons have the following functions: Install De-install Starts the install process for the selected option. Starts the deinstall process for the selected option. 68 HP StorageWorks Remote Control XP: User's Guide Key File Close Opens the Select a License Key File window. This feature is not available at this time. Closes the Option Product window and starts the requested install/deinstall operation. The following are general instructions for installing the firmware and software keys. For specific installation instructions for each option, see the installation section of the option's user's guide. Installing license keys (XP256) After your HP representative installs array license keys for the options you have purchased, you will install the corresponding remote license keys for the options. To install a license key for an XP256: 1. On the Remote Control main window, select Option to open the Option Product window. This window shows the current installation status of the options. 3. You are prompted to insert the license key diskette. Getting started 69 6. Insert the key disk into the diskette drive. When this option installation is complete, the Option Product window opens. The status of the selected option changes from [Not install] to [Install]. Select Close to return to the Remote Control main window. Installing license keys (XP512/XP48) After your HP representative installs array license keys for the options you have purchased, you will install the corresponding remote license keys for the options.
