Use only fluids decomposable into organic substances (products used for cars); do not use polishing substances containing abrasives. G When renewing the coolant it is advisable to warm the engine up to eliminate air bubbles inside the cooling circuit. Check the level and if necessary, top up. [. . . ] Remember that you shift up by lifting the gearbox pedal and you shift down by lowering it. Stopping the motorcycle: Pull the brakes and shift the speeds until the 1st speed is engaged; then idle the engine. We advise applying to your Dealer for the assistance, or for any maintenance procedure. on the "Periodical Maintenance Card" herebelow are spcified all the details requiring interventions at preset deadlines. More detailed instructions are given in the next paragraphs. IMPORTANT All the assistance and maintenance operations described herein must absolutely be carried out, in order to guarantee the best operation of your motorcycle. To gain access to the oil pump (A) and the engine oil tank (B), remove the saddle and the R. ALWAYS use engine oil of the recommended type (see page 24). Remove the saddle by clearing it from the front fixing screw. - Loosen screws (2 and 3) before removing the two side panels; - Remove connector of the fuse-battery wiring harness from the cable main bundle on the left side. - Remove battery (4) from its housing on the oil tank. NOTE Difficulties may arise in eliminating coolant from varnished surfaces. 17) According to the descriptions on the "Periodical maintenance card" replace the coolant WITH COLD ENGINE by operating as follows: - remove the right radiator cap (1); - remove the liquid drain screw (2) on the right side of the crankcase; - tilt the motorcycle over the left side to right out all the liquid; - reassemble the liquid drain plug - pour the right quantity of liquid into the radiator (page 22) and warm up the motor to eliminate possible air bubbles; - set the motorcycle in vertical position, check the level, and top up if necessary; - tighten the radiator cap. Note*: Should the outside temperature be too low and prevent proper functioning, apply adhesive material to protect radiator finnings. CARBURETOR Once properly regulated, the carburetor requires very little readjustment; therefore before readjusting is undertaken, the other parts of the engine should have been carefully inspected. Before adjusting, make sure throttle coil wire allows for complete throttle closing with outward handlebar grip movement. 18) Adjust the carburetor with warm engine and with the throttle control in closed position. Proceed as follows: - Turn slow running adjusting screw (1) on the left side of the carburetor until the idle requested condition is reached (turn the screw clockwise to increase the rpm, and anticlockwise to descrease the rpm). wARNING*: Exhaust contains poisonous carbon monoxide gas. Never run the engine in a closed garage or in a confined area. When the fuel does not flow, close the cock and clean the filter. Clean the filter according the description on the "Periodical mainten ance card". [. . . ] If either electrolyte losses or failure to the electric system are found, apply to a Dealer. The battery should be kept clean and the terminals coated with grease. When the motorcycles is not to be used for a period of time, charge the battery EVERY MONTH. 36) To gain access to the healamp bulbs, proceede as follows: - remove the two fastening elastics (1) and the headlamp holder; - remove the two filaments bulb connector; (2) and the boot (3) - release the bulb holding spring (4) and then the bulb itself.
