[. . . ] Thoroughly inspect the area where the equipment is to be used and remove all objects which may be thrown by the machine. - Refuel outdoors only and do not smoke while refueling. Never remove the cap of the fuel tank or add petrol while the engine is running or when the engine is hot. - If petrol is spilled, do not attempt to start the engine but move the machine away from the area of spillage and avoid creating any source of ignition until petrol vapors have dissipated. [. . . ] Position lower handle on mower so cut-off flat is forward as shown and install 3/8-16 x 3/4" hex bolts and lock nuts. Repeat for opposite side and tighten all bolts and nuts securely. Install the upper handle onto the lower handle, with rope guide mounting hole to right side. Install the two (2) handle bolts through the handles and secure with the two (2) nuts. The handle can be assembled in "HIGH" or "LOW" position depending on how the lower handle is installed on the handle bracket pins. To install the lower handle on the handle mounting pins, squeeze the botton ends toward each other until the handle will slip onto the mounting pins. Install the two (2) hairpin cotters onto the mounting pins. Install the upper handle onto the lower handle, with rope guide mounting hole to right side. Install the two (2) handle bolts through the handles and secure with the two (2) wing nuts. Position upstop bracket on left inside of upper handle and secure with hex washer head screw. Install the control bar above the up-stop bracket, into the hole located on the left side of upper handle, with the hole in flattened part of control bar on the right side. Push in on the right side of the control bar to allow the bar to fit into the formed hole in the upper handle. Align the tapered end of the plastic fitting with hole in the mounting bracket and push in until fitting snaps into place. Route the cable under the cross bar portion of lower handle. Put the offset end of cable into the hole in the right side of brake yoke. Insert wire "Z" bend of cable into inner hole of speed lever on engine. Push cable forward until speed lever touches boss and tighten clamp screw. Position cables as shown and secure with machine screw, washer and lock nut. Install rope guide into side of upper handle and secure with 1/4-20 locknut. Hold brake yoke down to upper handle and slowly pull out the starter rope until the rope will slip into loop of the rope guide. Place discharge guard on top of discharge opening of lawn mower housing. â· Place bracket on top of discharge guard, position bracket and guard on mower and secure with bolts and nuts supplied. [. . . ] The spark plug must be at the highest point on the mower when it is tilted up. The level should be between FULL and ADD. Note: the dipstick must be screwed all the way down in order to indicate correct oil level. Tighten the screw properly when reassembling. [. . . ]
