It provides all the functionalities required by PMR radio users: selective calls, signal management (5 tone, BIIS 1200, CTCSS and DTMF), multiple channels, audio-conferencing etc. [. . . ] the crossroads for your communications ! Functionalities The PS-200 is both a radio/IP gateway and a real audio IAX2 IP server providing a wide range of possibilities: Applications Complete interoperability with radio networks 3 Possible IP interconnections of several PS-200 interfaces to bring together the terminals belonging to distinct or geographically separated radio networks. 3 Voice synthesizer guided connection to a radio network simply by sending an analogue (5 tone) or digital (BIIS1200) selective call. The extended functionalities of the PS-200 interface enable many configurations, from the very simple to the most complicated, to suit all needs. You will find below 3 examples of simple applications. Suitable for PMR equipment 3 Can manage up to 6 transceivers (VHF, UHF, HF bases/repeaters). 3 Deals with PMR signalling (5 tone, CTCSS, DTMF, BIIS1200). 3 Controls the transceivers with conventional control signals (PTT and SQL carrier detection) or with more developed command protocols (PC command, CIV, NMEA). 3 Automatic control of audio gain 3 Continual check on the condition of the radio equipment. Application #1: Inter-networks IP connection Radio network A Radio network B Application #2: IP telephone interface Application #3: IP remote radio bases Local or remote configuration and control 3 Compatible with all types of Ethernet computer networks: LAN, ADSL, RBGAN, BGAN, SDSL, TRANSFIX Ethernet etc. . . . 3 Static or dynamic IP addresses (configuration by a DHCP server is possible). 3 IAX2 VoIP server: management of control and transmission of audio stream with reduced occupation of bandwidth. 3 State of system record files (log files). 3 Base mode: possible to operate the transceivers connected directly to the interface via the microphone/speaker on the front panel. 3 Alarms sent and external parameters measured (logic or analogue sensors and probes). The PS-200 can be configured to interconnect several radio networks via IP. A transceiver under radio network A can thus communicate with a transceiver under radio network B. It just needs to send a predefined selective call (analogue or digital) to commute the call to the appropriate radio network. The PS-200 can be integrated into an IP telephone network and provides a gateway to radio equipment. The various users can thus contact each other irrespective of their means of communication (telephone or radio). The IAX2 type IP telephones connect directly to the PS-200. If non-IAX2 IP telephones (SIP/H323) or analogue telephones are to be used, an IAX2 IP PABX (Asterisk) acts as the gateway. The PS-200 can be used for remote installing radio equipment (on a mountain, roof of a building, etc. ). This configuration is very practical when the area of cover of a transceiver is to be extended or improved or quite simply for connecting to a radio network from any Internet access.
