Update Recordings
To update the current list of music files in the system: Click on Communication Click on Update Recordings
Click on Recording Files List
Select a file number Click on Set File

Select the location you want the file to be uploaded from Click on Open
Set the volume level Insert a description (Comments) Click on OK Click on OK

Click on OK when data has been transferred successfully The current list of music files in the system has been updated.
Note:
The music files should not be uploaded from the desktop or desktop folders as this will result in an error. The recommended MP3 file configuration is: Mode: Mono Bandwidth: 22 kHz Bit Rate: 48kBps.

To delete music files from the current list of music files in the system: Click on Communication Click on Update Recordings

Backup
To create a full backup of the MusicTel-E: Click on Communication Click on Backup
Fill in the backup filename (browse if you want to change the directory) Click on OK
Click on OK to remove the message that the data has been received successfully. The backup file can now be used for another system or as a backup for the current system.

Restore
To restore a full backup of the MusicTel-E: Click on Communication Click on Restore
Fill in the filename of the backup to be restored (browse if you want to change the directory) If you used Browse, Click on Open Click on OK
Fill in the password (default is 1234)
Click on OK after reading the warning and accepting the consequences

Click on OK to remove the message that the data has been transferred. The MusicTel-E now contains all the information from the backup.
3. 2. 3. 8 Software Upgrade
To upgrade the System Software (not the configuration data), make sure you have an RS-232 connection to the MusicTel-E: Click on Communication Click on Software Upgrade
Browse for the upgrade file (*. BIN)
Click on Open Click on OK

3. 2. 3. 9 Communication Selection
The Communication selection defines the communication method, you will be using (via COM Ports or via the network). Apart from this the Select Device button in this window, leads you to the Device Selection screen, which will be described in chapter 4. 2. 8. At this point the following steps have to be taken to select the communication method: Click on Communication Click on Communication selection
Select the used communication method (either Network or COM Port (including the number of the COM Port)) Click on OK The communication method has been defined.

Password
To input a new password: Click on Communication Click on Password
Fill in the Current (default) Password (default = 1234) Fill in the New Password Fill in the password in the Confirm New Password field Click on OK
Click on OK to click away the message, that the password has been changed successfully. The password has been changed.

Reset
To perform a hardware reset to the MusicTel-E: Click on Communication Click on Reset
Click in OK This will reset the MusicTel-E.

Network Settings
To set the network parameters for the MusicTel-E: Click on Parameters Click on Network Settings The following window will be shown:
This information is essential for when you want to connect to the MusicTel-E locally. This information, together with the Communication Selection defines the communication flow.
Note:
The initial network setting can only be done via the RS-232 connection.
3. 2. 4. 2 Date & Time
To go to the date and time parameters of the MusicTel-E: Click on Parameters Click on Date & Time The current window will show the date and time of the MusicTel-E (if connected). If the MusicTel-E is not connected, you will get the request to connect to the MusicTel-E. When the communication parameter to the MusicTel-E is set to COM 1 and there is no physical connection, a time-out error and an error that date and time to the device have not been set will appear. After the second error the Date & Time window will appear with the information from the PC.

Clicking on this button provides you with a standard search window, in which you can search for and open a configuration file with the extension . MTUP or an MP3 file with the extension . MP3.

Selecting this radio button will perform a connection test for the selected device(s).

Clicking on this button opens a window, in which you can select whether a new device is added to an existing folder or a new folder is going to be created.
