MAN-E Software 37 Enter password Click on OK Click on OK when data has been transferred successfully The current list of music files in the system has been updated. Note: The music files should not be uploaded from the desktop or desktop folders as this will result in an error. MAN-E Software 40 3. 2. 3. 6 Backup To create a full backup of the MusicTel-E: Click on Communication Click on Backup Fill in the backup filename (browse if you want to change the directory) Click on OK Click on OK to remove the message that the data has been received successfully. MAN-E Software 41 3. 2. 3. 7 Restore To restore a full backup of the MusicTel-E: Click on Communication Click on Restore Fill in the filename of the backup to be restored (browse if you want to change the directory) If you used Browse, Click on Open Click on OK Fill in the password (default is 1234) Click on OK after reading the warning and accepting the consequences Installation and Operation manual v2. 1 September 2004 Copyright 2004 by ITS MusicTel-E Chapter 3. The MusicTel-E now contains all the information from the backup. 3. 2. 3. 8 Software Upgrade To upgrade the System Software (not the configuration data), make sure you have an RS-232 connection to the MusicTel-E: Click on Communication Click on Software Upgrade Browse for the upgrade file (*. MAN-E Software 43 Fill in the password (default 1234) Click on OK Click on OK to remove the message that the data has been transferred successfully 3. 2. 3. 9 Communication Selection The Communication selection defines the communication method, you will be using (via COM Ports or via the network). Apart from this the Select Device button in this window, leads you to the Device Selection screen, which will be described in chapter 4. 2. 8. At this point the following steps have to be taken to select the communication method: Click on Communication Click on Communication selection Select the used communication method (either Network or COM Port (including the number of the COM Port)) Click on OK The communication method has been defined. MAN-E Software 44 3. 2. 3. 10 Password To input a new password: Click on Communication Click on Password Fill in the Current (default) Password (default = 1234) Fill in the New Password Fill in the password in the Confirm New Password field Click on OK Click on OK to click away the message, that the password has been changed successfully. MAN-E Software 45 3. 2. 3. 11 Reset To perform a hardware reset to the MusicTel-E: Click on Communication Click on Reset Click in OK This will reset the MusicTel-E. 3. 2. 4 Function Parameters Description The Parameters menu contains the following functions: Network Settings Date & Time Define the network parameters for the MusicTel-E Define the Date and Time on the MusicTel-E Installation and Operation manual v2. 1 September 2004 Copyright 2004 by ITS MusicTel-E Chapter 3. MAN-E Software 46 3. 2. 4. 1 Network Settings To set the network parameters for the MusicTel-E: Click on Parameters Click on Network Settings The following window will be shown: This information is essential for when you want to connect to the MusicTel-E locally. This information, together with the Communication Selection defines the communication flow. Note: The initial network setting can only be done via the RS-232 connection. 3. 2. 4. 2 Date & Time To go to the date and time parameters of the MusicTel-E: Click on Parameters Click on Date & Time The current window will show the date and time of the MusicTel-E (if connected). If the MusicTel-E is not connected, you will get the request to connect to the MusicTel-E. When the communication parameter to the MusicTel-E is set to COM 1 and there is no physical connection, a time-out error and an error that date and time to the device have not been set will appear. [. . . ] MAN-E Software 66 Function Description MP3 File/Configuration File/Connection Test Select the required action type radio button File name Target Number Volume level of MP3 file Comments Name of Configuration/MP3 file Place in the audio file list of the device, where the selected file needs to go to Volume level of MP3 file when played back in the device A field in which a short description of the file can be placed Button Function Browse for the for Configuration or MP3 file name Close the window Minimize the window Help Cancel Accept 3. 4. 1. 5 Browse for the Configuration or MP3 File Name Clicking on this button provides you with a standard search window, in which you can search for and open a configuration file with the extension . MTUP or an MP3 file with the extension . MP3. 3. 4. 1. 6 Connection Test Selecting this radio button will perform a connection test for the selected device(s). Function Description Add to device to existing folder or Add device to new folder radio button Select the required action to either add a new device or to add a device to a new folder.
