[. . . ] For improved operation,  the STC-1B-ZB-Z's charge rate has been permanently set to a trickle charge mode. In this mode,  the unit will take approximately twelve hours to fully charge,  rather than the one to three hours stated on page 6. If the STC-1B-ZB-Z is being used while it is plugged in,  it will drain the battery much faster than the power supply can recharge it. Even if the STC-1B-ZB-Z is fully charged and connected to the power supply,  it will only operate for three to four hours before it must be left alone to recharge. Do not operate the unit while the battery is being recharged. After connecting the STC-1B-ZB-Z to the power supply,  set it aside and allow it to fully charge (this will take about twelve hours). The fuel meter will only reset when the unit is fully charged. If the unit is not used for long periods of time,  the fuel meter will become inaccurate.
