WARNINGS
It is most important that this instruction book should be retained with the appliance for future reference. Should the appliance be sold or transferred to another owner, or should you move house and leave the appliance, always ensure that the book is supplied with the appliance in order that the new owner can be acquainted with the functioning of the appliance and the relevant warnings. [. . . ] To adapt the appliance to other voltages, use an autotransformer having a minimum output of 500 VA. Important It is essential that the appliance be connected to an efficient earth tap. For this purpose the supply cable plug incorporates a special earth contact. If the sockets of your domestic wiring system are not grounded, have the appliance connected to a separate ground wire by a qualified electrician in accordance with the existing safety regulations. The manufacturer declines to accept any liability should this safety rule not be observed. 87/308 of 2. 6. 87 relative to radio interference suppression.
Location
Place the appliance away from all heat sources, such as: radiators, heating stoves, direct sunlight, etc. Best results are obtained with a room temperature ranging between +16°C and +32°C.
This appliance complies with the following E. E. C. Directives: - 73/23 EEC of 19. 2. 73 (Low Voltage Directive) and subsequent modifications; - 89/336 EEC of 3. 5. 89 (Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive) and subsequent modifications.
Cleaning the interior
Before using the appliance for the first time, wash the interior and all internal accessories with lukewarm water and some neutral soap so as to remove the typical smell of a brand-new product, then dry thoroughly. Do not use detergents which will leave an odour or abrasive powders on the interior, as these will damage the finish.

Right-hand opening Remove the pins (A) and (B). Left-hand opening Remove pins (A) and (C) from both sides and the door. A medium setting is generally the most suitable. However, the thermostat knob setting should be adjusted depending on the temperature required inside the appliance. This, in turn, depends on a number of factors such as the ambient temperature, the number of times the door is opened, the quantity of food stored and the location of the appliance. Turn the knob clockwise, to higher numbers, to obtain a lower temperature, or anticlockwise if a higher temperature is required. Important Do not put carbonated liquids (fizzy drinks, etc. ) in the freezing compartment as they may burst. Water ices, if consumed immediately after removal from the freezing compartment, can possibly cause the skin to be freeze burnt. Remember that, once thawed, frozen food deteriorates rapidly. On the rear of the door you will find a list of foods followed by a number. These numbers indicate the maximum period of time for which the food in question may be conserved (in months).
Storage of frozen food
To obtain the best performance from this appliance, we strongly recommend that you make sure that the commercially frozen foodstuffs were adequately stored by the retailer and, furthermore, be sure that these frozen foodstuffs are transferred from the foodstore to the consumer in the shortest possible time (a temperature increase of the frozen food could shorten its storage period). It is also advisable not to exceed the storage period indicated by the producer of the food. Finally, do not open the door frequently or leave it open longer than is absolutely necessary. [. . . ] It is advisable to show on the single food packet the freezing-in date to enable you to keep tap of the storage time. Do not allow fresh, unfrozen food to touch food which is already frozen, thus avoiding a rise in temperature of the latter.
Thawing
Deep-frozen or frozen food, prior to being used, can be thawed in the refrigerator compartment or at room temperature, depending on the time available for this operation. Small pieces may even be cooked still frozen, directly from the freezer: in this case, cooking will take longer.
Ice-cube production
This appliance is equipped with trays for the production of ice-cubes. Fill these trays with water to 3/4 of their height, then put them in the freezer compartment. [. . . ]
