Hold a sheet of plain white paper in front of the subject. Adjust zoom or position yourself so that the white paper fills the screen. Press the MENU Wheel in until blinking rapidly. When the setting is completed, normal blinking. begins resumes
Press the MENU Wheel in twice. The Menu Screen closes and the Manual White Balance indicator is displayed.
NOTES: In step 2, it may be difficult to focus on the white paper. 55) A subject can be shot under various types of lighting conditions indoors (natural, fluorescent, candlelight, etc. ). Because the colour temperature is different depending on the light source, the subject tint will differ depending on the white balance settings. Use this function for a more natural result. Once you adjust white balance manually, the setting is retained even if the power is turned off or the battery removed.

Recording Digital Sound Effects (GR-DVM96 only)

Press the MENU Wheel in. Pressing D. SOUND S P 10min REC starts playback of the currently selected sound effect. You can check it without EXPLOS ION recording it onto the tape. Press D. SOUND again to stop the sound effect playback midway. The selected sound effect indication with a " " mark appears moving and the sound effect is recorded onto the tape. The sound effect cannot be heard from the speaker during recording. Connect a headphone to the headphone connector to hear the sound effect.

To cancel recording the sound effect midway. . . The camcorder stops recording the sound effect and the sound effect indication disappears.
Downloading sound data from Web Site
The sound effects pre-stored in the provided memory card can be dubbed onto a tape.

You can download sound data available at our Web Site (see below for URL) and transfer them from your PC to the memory card using a USB cable to create more sound effects. http://www. jvc-victor. co. jp/english/download/ d-sound/index. html You can also use the PC card adapter CU-VPSD60, floppy adapter CU-VFSD50 or USB reader/writer CU-VUSD70 to transfer sound data from a PC to the memory card.
