Make sure to put the MD recorder or cassette deck to stop mode. 1 Make preparation for recording. CD = MD 1 Select the CD input. 2 Ensure that the "PGM" and "RANDOM" indicators are not lit. CD = TAPE 1 Perform steps 1 to 3 of the procedure in "Recording on TAPE". > 2 Ensure that the "PGM" and "RANDOM" indi3 Insert disc in the CD player. To record CD onto tape, go to step 3 3 Insert a recordable MD in the MD recorder. 4 Insert the desired CD in the CD player. 5 Ensure that the "HIGH-SPEED" indicator is not lit. w ÷ If the "PGM" indicator is lit, turn it off by pressing the PGM key in stop mode to cancel the program mode. ÷ If the "RANDOM" indicator is lit, turn it off by pressing the RANDOM key to cancel the random play mode. ÷ When the "HIGH-SPEED" indicator is lit, the MD recording is performed as high-speed recording. 2 Select the recording mode. 1 Press the menu key. menu Application section 2 Turn the volume/multi control knob to select "MD REC MODE", then press the set/ demo key. Discs or tracks recorded in the LP2 or LP4 mode will produce no sound if they are played back on a player which is incompatible with the LP2 or LP4 mode. (Recording and playback will be stopped) Do not turn power off or apply shock or impact while "MD WRITING" is displayed. If the power cord is unplugged before "MD WRITING" disappears, the recorded or edited data will be lost. Application section 46 Convenient recording methods Twin recording onto MD and tape (TWIN REC) All the tracks on a CD can be recorded simultaneously onto an MD and tape. (All-track twin recording) The current track can be recorded from the beginning simultaneously onto an MD and tape. (single-track twin recording) The tape deck of the unit can record signals only on Normal (Type ) and High (Type ) tapes. It cannot record on Metal (Type ) tapes. Make sure to put the MD recorder or cassette deck to stop mode. 1 Make preparation for recording. 1 Select the CD input. 2 Ensure that the "PGM" and "RANDOM" indicators are not lit. 3 MD : Insert a recordable MD in the MD recorder. TAPE : Perform steps 1 to 3 of the procedure in "Recording on TAPE". > 4 Insert the desired CD in the CD player.
