÷ Pressing the SET (¶) key pauses recording after leaving a non-recorded space of about 4 seconds. ÷ If the key is pressed again in less than 4 seconds after it has been pressed, recording resumes from that instant.

Tips in CD recording
When recording CD tracks onto a tape, if you leave the cassette deck in record-pause mode beforehand, the cassette deck recording can be started at the same time as the CD starts to be played (synchronous recording function).
1 Set the CD player in pause mode. 2 Select the track to be recorded with the
MULTI CONTROL (4, ¢) keys. (The CD player pauses at the beginning of the selected track. ) 3 Put the cassette deck in record-pause mode. (Press the SET (¶) key twice in succession. ) 4 Start playing the CD. ÷ The repeat mode can also be canceled by pressing the 7 (stop) key.

Random playback
As the titles are selected randomly each time, the music can be enjoyed of it. Random playback can play tracks in one to three discs.
Please note that random playback is not possible during programmed playback. If the PGM indicator is lit in the display, perform the procedure on page 38 to cancel the program playback mode.

RDS is a system which transmits useful information (digital data) for FM broadcasts together with the broadcast signal. Tuners and receivers designed for RDS reception can extract the information from the broadcast signal for use with various functions such as automatic display of the station name.
Set the reception band to FM. Preset RDS stations with the auto memory function.

This unit is equipped with the following functions utilizing RDS data:

The tuner automatically searches for a station which is currently broadcasting a specified program type (genre). The "RDS" indicator lights up when an RDS broadcast (signal) is received.

Note before the use of RDS
For reception of RDS stations, the auto presetting function must be used to preset the stations. With the auto memory function, RDS stations are preset with priority.
