Manual abstract: user guide KING BD461

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] The oven remains hot for a considerable length of time after being switched off. Children must be watched continuously, and special care should be taken that they neither touch the surfaces and nor play anywhere near the appliance, either when it is in operation or before it has cooled down completely. l Ensure that the appliance is unplugged and completely cooled before undertaking any maintenance or cleaning operation. Do not line the walls of the oven, especially the lower part, with tinfoil. Pour a little water into the dripping-pan to avoid burning fats producing unpleasant odours. [. . . ] should not be placed directly against the grid covering the fan at the back of the oven, or placed on the oven base. Do not use baking trays larger than 30 cm x 35 cm (12 in x 14 in) as they will restrict the circulation of heat and may affect performance. Condensation and steam When food is heated it produces steam in the same way as a boiling kettle. The oven vents allow some of this steam to escape. However, always stand back from the oven when opening the oven door to allow any build up of steam or heat to release. If the steam comes into contact with a cool surface on the outside of the oven, e. g. a trim, it will condense and produce water droplets. This is quite normal and is not a fault with the oven. To prevent discolouration, regularly wipe away condensation and also soilage from surfaces. 9 The effects of dishes on cooking results Dishes and tins vary in their thickness, conductivity, colour, etc. which affects the way they transmit heat to the food inside them. A Aluminium, earthenware, oven glassware and bright shiny utensils reduce cooking and underneath browning. B Enamelled cast iron, anodized aluminium, aluminium with non-stick interior and coloured exterior and dark, heavy utensils increase cooking and underneath browning. Do not rest anything on the bottom of the oven: dripping-pan, baking sheet, casseroles, oven dishes, tinfoil or anything else during operation, since this could cause stagnation of the heat and damge the enamel of the oven. 4 3 2 1 Telescopic Shelf supports The oven has four shelf levels. The thermostat control light will remain on until the correct temperature is reached. It will then cycle on and off to show the temperature is being maintained. Tips on using the Oven Runner positions are not critical, but make sure the shelves are evenly spread. When cooking more than one dish in the fan oven, place dishes centrally on the shelves rather than several dishes on one shelf. When the oven is full, you may need to allow slightly longer cooking time. A shelf may be placed on the floor of the oven. Place dishes on a shelf in this position rather than on the oven base, to allow air circulation around the food. When the oven is full of the same food, e. g. equal trays of small cakes or equal size victoria sandwich cakes, then they will be cooked in the same time and removed from the oven together. When different sizes of trays or types of food, e. g. biscuits and cakes are cooked, they will not necessarily be ready together. The fan oven can be used to heat foods through without thawing first, e. g. [. . . ] Do not use the oven until it has been repaired. Replacing the Oven Light Ensure the electricity supply is switched off before carrying out this operation. The oven bulb has to comply to these features: a) resistant to temperatures of 300 °C; b) electric rate: 230 V - 50 Hz; c) electric power rate: 25 W; d) connection type: E 14. To replace the bulb, proceed as follows (see fig. ): a) push in and turn the glass lid anticlockwise; b) remove tha faulty bulb; c) replace it with a new one; d) refit the glass lid; e) switch on the electricity supply. Oven Shelves and Shelf Supports To clean the oven shelves, soak in warm soapy water and remove stubborn marks with a well wetted soap impregnated pad. The shelf supports can be removed for easy cleaning (see fig. ). [. . . ]
