The 8500 printer is a thermal dye diffusion device with superior printing speed. It has a resolution of 314 pixels per inch (ppi), and prints a three-color page in about 75 seconds. CONTENTS PRINTER DRIVER GUIDE SEARCH HELP About Printer Initialization When you turn the 8500 printer on, it initializes (starts up and performs a self-check) in a few seconds. During this time, the POWER, MEDIA, and PARALLEL and USB lights blink. If the 8500 Printer Does Not Initialize If the 8500 printer fails to initialize, no light illuminates on the display panel. Turn the 8500 printer off and then back on. If a light still does not illuminate, turn off both the 8500 printer and the computer. Disconnect all cables from the 8500 printer except the power cable. If no light illuminates, call for service.
