[. . . ] MAKING COFFEE WITHOUT USING THE GROUND COFFEE STORAGE BOX Insert a permanent filter or a paper filter into the filter holder (J) Fig. If using a paper Filter, make sure it is fully open and properly positioned in the filter holder. CAUTION: To avoid any overflow, the carafe must be properly positioned on the warming plate of the coffee maker, otherwise it could cause hot water or hot coffee to overflow. The coffee maker becomes very hot during the brew cycle. Don't remove the filter holder during the brew cycle. Don't add water during keep warm mode, otherwise cycle will start over again. The cup setting number correspond to big cup of coffee. For example if you set 10 cups in setting, it correspond to 10 big cups or 15 small cups. Check whether the clock is set to the right time. If not, follow the instructions in the SETTING THE CLOCK section.
