Printing from the multipurpose feeder
Since the multipurpose feeder does not have auto size sensing, you must select the correct paper size and type from the printer operator panel or from MarkVision before you send a job to print.

Select MP Feeder as the paper source. From the printer operator panel or from MarkVision:
a Press Menu> or <Menu to enter the menus.
Paper Menu appears on the second line of the dis-
play.
b Press Select to open the Paper Menu.
The Paper Source menu item appears on the second line of the display.
c Press Select to select Paper Source. d Press and release Menu> until MP Feeder appears
on the second line of the display.
e Press Select to set the multipurpose feeder as
the paper source.

f Press Go to return the printer to the ready state.

Select the paper size. Since the multipurpose feeder does not automatically sense the size of the media you loaded, you must select the correct paper size. If you set the size from your software application or driver, press Go when the message Load MP Tray appears on the display. Follow the instructions below to set the size from the operator panel or from MarkVision:
a Press Menu> or <Menu to enter the menus.
Paper Menu appears on the second line of the dis-
play.
b Press Select to open the Paper menu. c Press Menu> until PAPER SIZE appears on the
second line of the display.
d Press Select to select Paper Size. e Press and release Menu> until MP Feeder Size
appears on the second line of the display.
f Press Select to open a list of paper and envelope
sizes.
g Press Menu> or <Menu to scroll through the list
of sizes.
h When the size you need appears on the second
line of the display, press Select.
i Press Go to return the printer to the ready state.

Make sure the Paper Type setting is appropriate for the media you're loading in the feeder. See page 18 or refer to the Setup Guide for more information about the Paper Type setting.

Feeding media manually
You can also use the multipurpose feeder to feed single sheets of paper, transparencies, card stock, labels, or individual envelopes. To print a page manually:

Select Manual Paper or Manual Envelope as the paper source from the operator panel or from MarkVision:

If you're loading an envelope, a transparency, or a sheet of labels or card stock, select the rear output bin. This allows media to feed through the printer along a straight path, thereby reducing curl and stacking problems.

When Load Manual appears on the operator panel display, insert a single sheet of media in the feeder.
a If necessary, press the bottom of the multipurpose feeder until it clicks into the loading position.
b Slide open the multipurpose feeder's right and
left paper guides until there is enough room to load the media.
c Adjust the left and right paper guides to fit
snugly against the media.
d Press the green release lever to the left to position the media for printing.

If you are printing additional pages manually, insert a single sheet or envelope each time the printer prompts you with the Load Manual message.
