Removing the Upper Rack The upper rack can be removed to make more room in the lower rack. Squeeze the tab of the retainer at the end of each side rail and remove it. Be careful not to allow the upper rack to fall off the rails while removing the retainers. Pull the upper rack out of the slides. USING YOUR DISHWASHER To lower the rack Hold the rack in the middle of each side to support the weight of the rack, then lift the lever on each side to release the rack and lower it. ( marked position). Squeeze Tab NOTE After adjusting, check that the spray arm is free to rotate without being stopped by dishes loaded on the upper or lower racks. Do not adjust the rack when it is loaded with dishes. Caution Non Dishwasher-Safe Items The combination of high water temperature and dishwasher detergents may damage certain items. Therefore we do not recommend using the dishwasher to wash the following items: Hand painted silver or gold leaf crockery Wood or bone handled utensils Iron or non-rustproof utensils Plastic items which are not dishwasher safe. NOTE Always remove dishes from the upper rack before removing the rack. 12 U SING YOUR DISHWASHER Filling the dispenser 1. Push latch to open. Adding detergent to dispenser Detergent must be put into the detergent chamber before starting every cycle except when Rinse Only is selected. If your dishes are only moderately dirty, you may be able to use less detergent than recommended. The detergent chamber holds 1. 4 oz (40g) when full. The amount of detergent depends on the program, dish load and soil level. Refer to the table below and adjust these recommended amounts as necessary for your load.
