Dynamic Range Control (DRC) With the DVD format, you can hear a program's soundtrack in the most accurate and realistic presentation. However, you may wish to compress the dynamic range of the audio output (the difference between the loudest sounds and the quietest ones). This allows you to listen to a movie at a lower volume without losing clarity of sound. Vocal Set to On only when a multi-channel karaoke DVD is playing. The karaoke channels on the disc mix into normal stereo sound. 16 Area Code Enter the code of the area whose standards were used to rate the DVD video disc, based on the list on page 28. Select "Area Code" on the LOCK menu then press B. Follow step 2 as shown previous page (Rating). Select the first character using v / V buttons. The tape is played at a speed 1/19 times slower than the normal speed. Use v/V (TRK) on the Remote Control if necessary to adjust the tracking. To return to the normal speed, press H (PLAY). Connect the LINE1 input jacks on this unit to the AUDIO/VIDEO OUTPUT jack on the external device using the audio/video cables. Set the timer reservation setting of the external device. Insert a video cassette with the safety tab intact to this unit. Press z (REC) for more than 3 seconds on the front panel when the unit power is off. The " " mark will flashes on the display window. This unit is set to standby mode for the external timer recording.
