[. . . ] The unit flashes a message on the screen, telling you it's adding the new window to the group. When it's finished, it returns to the box selection menu. You can now press the right or left arrow keys to select the next box in the group. When you're filled the group with boxes, the unit will automatically save your reprogrammed group. If you're finished selecting boxes before filling the group, press the EXIT key. If you fill the group with boxes, the unit will automatically leave the menu after the last box is selected. To return the group to its factory default, see the "Preset Groups" in the "System Setup" section. 40 REPROGRAMMING BOXES 1. 3. SELECT "REPROGRAM BOXES" FROM MAIN MENU. THE BOX SELECTION SCREEN APPEARS. PRESS THE RIGHT ARROW KEY UNTIL THE DESIRED BOX APPEARS. THIS IS THE FIRST WINDOW THAT WE WANT TO USE. PRESS THE UP ARROW KEY TO SELECT IT. 4. 5. 6. THE FIRST BOX IS PLACED AT THE TOP. AFTER MESSAGES ERASE THEMSELVES, YOU'RE RETURNED TO THE BOX SELECTION SCREEN SHOWN IN STEP 2. WE CHOSE THIS WINDOW AS THE SECOND ONE FOR THIS GROUP. REPEAT STEPS 2 AND 3 AGAIN. "vOLTS" IS THE LAST BOX CHOSEN FOR THIS SCREEN. 7. 8. See the back of this manual for a complete listing of all box options. THE FINISHED SCREEN. 41 DATABASES Thanks to the Jeppesen database and the AirMap's ability to save locations in memory, (waypoints) you can navigate to virtually any location. The AirMap can store up to 250 waypoints. You can store your present position, the cursor's location, or enter latitude/longitude positions as waypoint locations. The Jeppesen database contains airport, VOR, and NDB locations, plus pertinent airport data such as com frequencies, runway information, and services (fuel availability, repairs, oxygen, etc. ) You can also create routes composed of airports, VORs, NDBs, or your own waypoints in any combination. Aviation Database To use the database, first press the WPT key. You'll use this screen to store and recall your own locations. This moves the black box to the "TYPE" label at the top of the screen. Pressing the right arrow key repeatedly switches to each of the database screens in the order shown below. AIRPORT VOR NDB INTERSECTION 42 To find a particular airport, VOR, NDB, or intersection, first switch to the appropriate database. In this example, we'll use the airport database. Suppose we're planning a trip to Fort Smith Regional airport in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
