[. . . ] If you are using a sampler or computer program that can read REX2 files (such as Propellerhead Reason or Steinberg Cubase), you can adjust the tempo and pitch independently of each other. Acidized WAV File (A WAV file prepared for use in Acid): Acidized WAV files store special data that optimizes the time stretching/compressing and pitch change features of ACID. MIDI Files (For use with a virtual instrument or hardware synth): MIDI files consist of event sequences that can be used to trigger a software-based synth or drum machine, or an external hardware-based synthesizer and/or drum machine. Most MIDI files will contain note data as well as velocity settings and controller messages (i. e. , sustain, pitch bend, etc. ).
