If your recording is going to be burned to a CD, you might want to select 44. 1 kHz. Othewise, you can choose 48 kHz, 88. 2 kHz, or 96 kHz. You want to choose the lowest latency setting that your computer will handle, since you want to minimize the delay when the musicians are monitoring their overdubs. The lower the latency setting, the more resources are demanded of your computer and the less is available for handling the actual recording process. If you hear pops, clicks, or distortion in the audio, increase the latency setting. You can use the CPU bar in the lower right corner of Tracktion to monitor how much CPU horsepower is available. If the CPU bar changes from green to red, you are running out of resources and should increase the latency setting. 8. Make sure the correct sample rate and latency settings appear in the settings tab. If not, click "restart device" to update the settings (on the PC), or make the changes directly in Tracktion (on the Mac). Make sure all of the inputs are enabled.
