Mow across the face of slopes, never up and down. Be very careful when reversing or pulling the aerator towards yourself. Stop the motor (and thus the blades) when the aerator has to be tilted for transportation when crossing surfaces other than grass, and when transporting the aerator to and from the working area. Never operate the aerator with defective guards, or without safety devices, for example deflectors and/or grass catchers. Do not change the engine governor settings or overspeed the engine. Start the engine carefully according to instructions and with your feet well away from blades. Do not tilt the aerator when starting it, unless the aerator has to be tilted for starting.
