[. . . ] Z Hot water m U Water flows out of the hot water spout until preparation is interrupted by pressing any button. The following temperatures can be selected for preparing hot water: Z Low Z Normal Z X high There is a danger of scalding from hot water splashes. Example: This is how to prepare a portion of hot water. Precondition: COFFEE READY is displayed. T Place a cup under the hot water spout. ö T Use the selector switch to select the hot water portion symbol a. TEMPERATURE and the pre-set temperature are displayed. E By pressing the selector switch several times (within approx. 2 seconds) you can set the temperature to your individual preference. This setting is not saved. CAUTION HOT WATER, the pre-set amount of water flows into the cup. COFFEE READY appears on the display. 27 4 Permanent settings in programming mode 4 Permanent settings in programming mode Products With the PRODUCTS programme item you can enter individual settings for all coffee and milk specialities as well as hot water. U Before coffee, hot water or milk can be prepared, the machine has to heat up. Example: Proceed as follows to change the energy-saving mode from SAVE LEVEL 1 to SAVE LEVEL 2. Precondition: COFFEE READY is displayed. k T Keep the Rotary Switch pressed until MAINTENANCE appears. g T Turn the Rotary Switch until ECONOMY MODE 1 is displayed. k T Press the Rotary Switch to enter the programme item. SAVE LEVEL 1 g T Turn the Rotary Switch until SAVE LEVEL 2 is displayed. k T Press the Rotary Switch to confirm the setting. CONFIRMED w appears briefly on the display. ECONOMY MODE 2 g T Turn the Rotary Switch until EXIT is displayed. k T Press the Rotary Switch to exit programming mode. COFFEE READY 30 4 Permanent settings in programming mode Automatic switch-off By instructing your IMPRESSA to automatically switch itself off, you can cut down your energy consumption. If this function is activated, your IMPRESSA switches off automatically after the last action on the machine. E The programmable switch-off time can be adjusted between 0. 5 and 15 hours. [. . . ] T Prepare a coffee speciality. Coffee only comes out in drips when it is being prepared. Water hardness cannot be adjusted. Coffee or pre-ground coffee has been ground too finely and is blocking the system. The CLARIS filter cartridge is activated. The grinder is not yet completely filled with beans. COFFEE READY / FILL BEANS is displayed although the bean container has been filled. COFFEE READY / FILL BEANS is not displayed although the bean container is empty. The bean monitor is dirty. T Clean the bean container (see Chapter 5, `Maintenance ­ Cleaning the bean container'). EMPTY TRAY is always displayed. The metal contacts of the T Clean and dry the metal contacts drip tray are dirty or wet. [. . . ]
