[. . . ] For over two years now, copies of the Martin DMX hardware have appeared on the market. Also, with the release of additional PC-based software, a new unified protection system was needed to avoid having too many different protection mechanisms. From now on, every single Martin PC-based controller will be protected using the same device, i. e. the Martin One-Key. No longer will the software be protected with the DMX hardware. No longer will the price of the DMX hardware include a software license. [. . . ] After the trial period or when the yearly subscription is over, the MSD5 MC Edition will work in limited mode in which the "save" function is disabled and limited to two DMX universes. Products designated to include MSD5 MC Edition are: M1, Maxxyz Compact, all MaxModules, M-PC, and LightJockey. It will also be possible for any current owner of M1, Maxxyz Compact and all MaxModules to purchase this MSD5 MC Edition by supplying their Martin One Key code. Without the Martin One Key connected to the PC, this new version of LightJockey will not output any DMX, even when using the current Martin Universal DMX. Current users of LightJockey can keep using the current version they have; there's no need to upgrade unless the user wants to take advantage of the new Martin One Key concept and the new MSD MC Edition 45 day trial version. An upgrade path for all previous LightJockey hardware to the new Martin USB DUO DMX is possible. The next page will explain this. With this program, users will be able to return any of the previous hardware to Martin and receive the latest hardware, the Martin One Key and the MSD5 MC Edition 45 day trial. The device must be returned to Martin through authorized Martin distributors or Martin Subsidiaries. End user can't ship their device directly to Martin Professional A/S Specifications can change without notification LightJockey hardware exchange How does it work?Simple, The upgrade must be ordered using the part number on the next page, then the old DMX device must be returned to a Martin Partner (i. e. country distributor or Martin subsidiaries) (See next page of US market). After identification and authentication a replacement package is sent. If the customer requires to have his replacement ahead of time, a full LightJockey price will be charge and the difference will be credited once the old units is received (Within 30 days of receiving the replacement). The returned device will not be check for working status, so defective hardware will be accepted as well. However, devices using casing such as USB device must be complete, sending a single USB PCB without its casing will be refused. It goes without saying that illegal hardware copies will be refused and possibly destroyed.
