[. . . ] · the seat belt is tight and that it is not twisted, · the hip part of the seat belt passes over the red belt marks and belt tensioner(s), · the (diagonal) shoulder part of the seat belt is attached properly and passes through the two belt slots, along the red marks on the rear of the Maxi-Cosi Tobi, · both belt clamps are closed, · the belt tensioner(s) is in the tensioned, vertical position, · the entire Maxi-Cosi Tobi is installed securely and firmly in the car. Removing the Maxi-Cosi Tobi · Open the belt buckle of the seat belt (11). · Then first open both belt clamps (12) before releasing the belt tensioner. · Release the belt tensioner by pressing the button (13). The belt tensioner will now move down, into the horizontal position. · Remove the seat belt from the belt slots (14). · Take the Maxi-Cosi Tobi out of the car.
Tell the child never to play with the belt buckle. 3. 2 Seat positions (Adjusting the seat into sitting and reclining positions) The Maxi-Cosi Tobi can be set in 5 positions. · Pull the positioning handle under the front of the seat upwards and then pull or push the seat forwards or backwards (23). · Release the positioning handle in the desired position and push until you hear a "click". Check to make sure the Maxi-Cosi Tobi is securely locked in the desired position by pulling on it.

3. Solving any problems · Check the buckle for any dirt and if necessary clean by knocking the dirt out, rinsing, blowing clean or vacuuming with a vacuum cleaner, for example. Never use lubricants!
If you are unable to close the belt buckle or if you are unsure whether you have solved the problem correctly, contact your retailer or importer immediately (see back of instruction manual). Under no circumstances should the Maxi-Cosi Tobi be used. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Cleaning the cover · Wash the cover and belt pads by hand (maximum of 30°C). Also see the care instructions on the cover.
Tip: It is wise to buy an extra cover when purchasing the Maxi-Cosi Tobi so that you can continue to use it even when the cover is being washed and dried.
Reattaching the cover · Repeat the above steps in the reverse order!First attach the 4 belt pads and the headrest cover before reattaching the cover. · Slide the cover well into the cover edges of the shell all over. · Check that the cover is tight fitting all over and secured properly.
4. 3 Belt buckle functioning and cleaning The proper functioning of the belt buckle is very important for the safety of the child. The most common reason that the buckle does not function properly is because it is dirty (from dust, grime, food particles, etc. ). The following is a list of possible causes of function failure and possible solutions.
Always pay attention to the following. . . · Always use the seat, even on short trips close to home, as this is when most accidents occur. [. . . ] Repairs do not give entitlement to extension of the warranty. Products that are returned directly to the manufacturer are NOT covered by the guarantee and will be returned for the account of the sender. Fabric components and other parts subject to wear: · The cover should be maintained regularly (follow the instructions for maintenance).
