u Increasing or decreasing bass response
Push the "AUDIO" button repeatedly until the display reads "BASS. " Push the right (+) side of the "VOLUME" button to increase bass (more "lows"), and push the left ( ) side to decrease bass (less "lows").
u Increasing or decreasing treble response
Push the "AUDIO" button repeatedly until the display reads "TREB. " Push the right (+) side of the "VOLUME" button to increase treble (more "highs"), and push the left ( ) side to decrease treble (less "highs").
u Adjusting speaker balance
Balance control allows you to adjust the sound distribution between the right and left speakers. Push the "AUDIO" button repeatedly until the display reads "BAL. " Push the right (+) side of the "VOLUME" button to shift the sound to the right speakers, and push the left ( ) side to shift the sound to the left speakers.

u Adjusting speaker fader
Fade control allows you to adjust the sound distribution between the front and rear speakers. Push the "AUDIO" button repeatedly until the display reads "FADE. " Push the right (+) side of the "VOLUME" button to shift the sound to the front speakers, and push the left ( ) side to shift the sound to the rear speakers. NOTE: Illuminated bars in the display show relative levels of bass and treble, and positions of speaker balance and fader functions (left to right, front to rear).
Using the Controls of Your Cassette Tape Player
NOTE: Radio power must be on to use the cassette tape player or eject a tape. NOTE: Adjust the volume, treble, bass, balance and fader controls in the same manner as for radio stations. How to insert a tape Your cassette tape player is equipped with power loading. Once you insert a tape and push slightly (with the open edge to the right), the loading mechanism draws the tape the rest of the way in and play will begin after a momentary tape tightening process. Display indicates "M" (for metal/CrO2) while tape is playing. NOTE: A cassette tape can be loaded and stored with the ignition and radio power off.

How to locate a desired track on the tape There are four ways to quickly locate a desired selection on the tape. You can use the fast forward, rewind, "SEEK" or "SCAN" function. Following are brief descriptions of each.
u Fast forwarding the tape
To fast forward the tape, press the "FF" button. The radio will automatically begin playing until fast forward is manually stopped (by pushing the "PLAY PROG" button) or the end of the tape is reached. At the end of the tape, the direction automatically reverses and plays the other side of the tape.
u Fast rewinding the tape
To rewind the tape, press the "REW" button. The radio will automatically begin playing when rewind is manually stopped (by pushing the "PLAY PROG" button) or the beginning of the tape is reached.
u Using the "SEEK" function with your cassette
tape player While in the tape mode, push the right (a) side of the "SEEK" button to seek forward to the next selection on the tape. Push the left (b) side to seek the beginning of the current tape selection. NOTE: If you want to restart a currently playing tape selection, press the left (b) side of the "SEEK" button after approximately three seconds into the current selection. Whirling sprockets in the display (l) indicate the direction of tape travel.

u Using the "SCAN" function with your
cassette tape player Press the "SCAN/TUNE" button to enter the scan mode (display indicates "SCN"). Pushing the right (a) side of the "SEEK" button will begin the forward scan mode on the tape currently playing, stopping on each tape selection for approximately an eight-second sampling. Pushing the left (b) side of the "SEEK" button will begin the reverse scan mode, stopping on each previous tape selection for approximately an eight-second sampling.
