OFF: Slide the switch one click in the direction of the OFF arrow to turn the camera power off and retract the lens into the camera body (A-2). CLOSED: Slide the switch as far as it will go in the direction of the OFF arrow to close the lens cover (A-3). Press the shutter-release button all the way down to take the picture. ⷠLift your finger from the shutter-release button to cancel focus hold. The self-timer delays release of the shutter for approximately 10 seconds after the shutter-release button is pressed. Self-timer mode is canceled after the picture is taken. Make sure your subject is within the flash range listed below. When the shutter-release button is pressed partway down, the self-timer/ red-eye-reduction lamp on the front of the camera will illuminate to help reduce the red-eye effect in flash pictures. Frame your subject in the viewfinder, then press the shutter-release button partway down. Press the shutter release button all the way down to take the picture.
