[. . . ] The fan motor of this cooker hood incorporates a cut-out device which will operate if the cooker hood is installed below the minimum height recommended under section `Clearance Height ', or if the motor becomes overheated. If the cut-out device is activated, switch off the fan motor and allow the cooker hood to cool. The cutout device will reset itself when the fan motor has cooled significantly. It is dangerous to alter the specifications or modify this product in any way. [. . . ] When washing the metal grease filter in the dishwasher a slight discolouration of the filter can occur, this does not have any impact on its performance. · Clean the inner housing using a hot detergent solution only (never use caustic detergents, abrasive powders or brushes). External Cleaning Wipe the cooker hood frequently with warm soapy water using a mild detergent. Always wear protective gloves when cleaning the hood. Never use scouring pads or abrasive cleaners. Never use excessive amounts of water when cleaning particularly around the control panel. Metal grease filter The purpose of the grease filters is to absorb grease particles which form during cooking and it must always be used, either in the external extraction or internal recirculation function. Attention: the metal grease filters must be removed and washed, either by hand or in the dishwasher, every four weeks. Removing the metal grease filter · Push it towards the back of the unit and then pull it down and out, the grille will open from the front. Hand washing Soak grease filters for about one hour in hot water with a little washing-up liquid added, then rinse off thoroughly with hot water. Refit the grease filters when they are dry. 6 Charcoal Filter The charcoal filter cannot be cleaned. The filter should be replaced at least every three months or more frequently if the hood is used more than three hours per day. To Remove/Replace the Charcoal Filter 1. Carefully turn the charcoal filters anticlockwise and remove them from the two sides of the motor housing. Place the new charcoal filters over the sides of the motor housing, and turn clockwise. Changing the Light Bulb If the light bulb fails to function check that the bulb is screwed into the holder. If bulb failure has occurred then it should be replaced with a 220-240V 40W clear cylindrical shape bulb with a small E14 screw thread. Charcoal filters and light bulbs can be obtained from your local Service Force Centre. This appliance can be a fire hazard if the grease and charcoal filters are not replaced as recommended. 7 SOMETHING NOT WORKING If your appliance fails to work properly please carry out the following checks. Solution Check that: The hood is connected to the electricity supply. Check that a fan speed has been selected Check that: The fan speed is set high enough for the task. The kitchen is adequately vented to allow the entry of fresh air. If set up for recirculation, check that the charcoal filter is still effective. If set up for extraction, check that the ducting and outlets are not blocked. The safety cut-out device has been tripped. Turn off the hob and then wait for the device to reset. If the hood has been installed below the heights indicated in the installation instructions the motor will cut-out frequently which will damage the hood. The cooker hood is not working effectively. . The cooker hood has switched off during operation. [. . . ] The hood can be installed above these heights but for optimum performance it should be installed at the distance quoted for the appropriate heat source. 700mm 750mm 735mm 837mm Unpacking The fittings supplied to install this cooker hood can be found with the instruction book inside the packaging and consists of the following: 1 chimney support 1 Connection ring Ø 123 16 screw covers 6 Plastic rawl plugs Ø 6 mm 6 Screws 3, 9x32 6 Screws 3, 5x9, 5 12 Fitting the cooker hood to the wall · Decide where the cooker hood is to be installed, using a pencil mark the 4 points on the wall corresponding to 2 upper fixing points and 2 lower fixing points, ensuring that these points then correspond to the fixing points located at the back of the cooker hood. Insert 4 wall screw anchors and two screws in the upper drill holes on which to affix the cooker hood. Hang the cooker hood on the wall. · · · 208 2 3 4 13 · Remove the grease filters, and permanently affix the cooker hood to the wall from inside the cooker hood using 2 screws. · · Only for Suction version: Apply the exhaust ring to the exit perforation of the cooker hood and fix it with 2 screws.
