Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

[. . . ] In the unlikely event of any appliance proving to be faulty within 28 days of purchase it should be returned to the place of purchase for it to be replaced. If the fault develops after 28 days and within 24 months of original purchase, you should contact the Helpline number quoting Model number and Serial number on the product, or write to the address below. You will be asked to return the product (in secure, adequate packaging) to the address below along with a copy of proof of purchase. Subject to the exclusions set out below (see `Exclusions') the faulty appliance will then be repaired or replaced and dispatched usually within 7 working days of receipt. [. . . ] Take special care to keep the toaster away from flammable materials such as curtains or draperies during and after use. 17 Do not put any food other than bread into the toaster. 18 Do not use oversize bread or bread that expands in heat (eg pitta bread). 19 Do not insert metal foil packages into the toaster. These involve a risk of electric shock or fire. 20 Never insert utensils into the toaster. This will involve a risk of electric shock and may damage the toaster. If oversize bread gets stuck in the slots, unplug the toaster from the socket and allow it to cool before attempting to remove the bread. 21 Do not leave your toaster unattended when in use. SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS Electrical Requirements Check that the voltage on the rating plate of your appliance corresponds with your house electricity supply which must be A. C. If the socket outlets in your home are not suitable for the plug supplied with this appliance the plug should be removed and the appropriate one fitted. IMPORTANT : THE PLUG REMOVED FROM THE MAINS LEAD, IF SEVERED, MUST BE DESTROYED AS A PLUG WITH BARED FLEXIBLE CORD IS HAZARDOUS IF ENGAGED INTO A LIVE SOCKET OUTLET. If you use a 13 amp BS1363 plug, a 13 amp BS1362 fuse must be fitted. WARNING : THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED. 2 Features of your toaster Browning control 1 The required toasting time of the bread will vary depending on the type, thickness and freshness of the bread. Thicker, fresher bread and bread with a higher moisture content will require a higher setting. 2 If the toaster is not fully loaded (eg only one slice) then the browning control should be set to a slightly lower setting. 3 Do not re-toast bread on a high setting. If you wish to make the toast slightly darker re-toast use a low setting or use the re-heat function. 4 If you wish to stop the toasting cycle at any time press the Cancel button. Removable crumb tray Cord storage Electronic variable browning control Reheat button Frozen button Cancel button Bread carriage lever/high lift feature Bread slots Warming rack (located inside toaster) Warming rack knob Cancel setting The cancel button may be pressed at any time to stop the toasting cycle and return the bread carriage lever to the off position. If however oversize bread has jammed the bread carriage lever in the on position (down), the toaster must be unplugged and allowed to cool before any attempt is made to remove the bread. Before first use 1 Before using to toast for the first time, the toaster should be switched on without bread to remove the new "smell" that all heating elements make. When doing this the smell is not harmful but the room should be well ventilated during this period. The toaster browning control knob should be set to the maximum (8). NOTE - The bread carriage lever will not stay down unless there is power to the toaster. Frozen bread button To toast frozen bread, do not adjust the browning control, press the frozen button immediately after the bread carriage lever has locked down and this will automatically extend the toasting cycle. [. . . ] Therefore, the browning control should be set at a lower setting than usual. All sorts of bread can be used as well as teacakes, small rolls etc. Slices should not however be so thick as to cause burning or jamming within the bread slots. When toasting 2 slices or more it is recommended they are of equal size and freshness. [. . . ]
