text entry method
Multiple text entry methods make it easy for you to enter names, numbers, and messages. The method you select remains active until you select another method. Press # in any text entry screen to select one of the following entry methods: entry mode Primary Primary text entry method. Alternatively, you can select a text entry method in any text entry screen by pressing M > Input Mode.

Press M > Input Setup from any text entry screen. Select Primary or Secondary, and then choose from the following methods: Primary Enter letters and numbers by pressing a key one or more times (see page 38). Lets the phone predict each word as you press keys (see page 41). Lets you use Taiwanese BoPoMoFo as input for Chinese characters. Note: Only available in Taiwan and Hong Kong. Lets you use Traditional Strokes as input for Chinese characters. Note: Available only in the People's Republic of China.

3 Press INSERT to store the text. Tip: Press S up to accept a word completion; press * to insert a space. In a text entry screen, you can press # to switch the entry methods. If Tap or Tap Extended is not available as the Primary or Secondary entry method, see page 37. When you enter text with the Tap or Tap Extended method, the soft key functions change.
