Adjusting the power cord length
You can customize the length of the power cord up to 3 feet so that it is the exact length you desire. To increase the length of the power cord: Grasp the power cord (not the power plug) and gently pull it away from the coffeemaker.
To decrease the length of the power cord: Grasp the power cord a few inches away from where it attaches to the coffeemaker. Slowly feed it into the coffeemaker.
Setting the clock
(models URX20 URX23, URX30 and URX33 only) The clock flashes on the control panel to indicate that it has not been set.
z:You must set the clock if you want to use the timer feature.
To set the clock: 1. ) Press and hold the HOUR button until the clock displays the correct hour. The PM indicator will light to indicate a PM time; if the PM indicator is not lit, the time is AM.

Press and hold the MIN. button until the clock displays the correct minute. The clock is now set.

Brewing coffee
Cleaning the coffeemaker before first use
Follow the steps under "Adding water and ground coffee" and "Brewing coffee now, " (pages 5-6) but do not add coffee grounds.
Selecting and measuring ground coffee
For best results, use coffee ground for use with automatic drip coffee makers, The amounts shown below are suggested amounts. 1 Use this amount of ground coffee

Adding water and ground coffee
1, ) Open the brew basket lid and lift out the removable filter basket.

Place a MR. COFFEE@ brand 8-I 2 cup paper filter or a MR. COFFEE@ permanent gold-tone filter in the removable filter basket.
3. ) Add the desired amount of ground coffee to the filter. Gently shake the filter basket to level the ground coffee.
4. ) Return the filter basket to the brew basket. Be certain that the filter is centered in the filter basket and then close the lid to the brew basket.

Remove the water reservoir by gasping the hand holds in the back of the reservoir, and pulling up. Fill it with the desired amount of tap water. Replace the reservoir on the coffeemaker, making sure that it is firmly attached to the coffeemaker body
