[. . . ] Load Optimized Defaults Use this menu to load the default values set by the mainboard manufacturer specifically for optimal performance of the mainboard. Save & Exit Setup Save changes to CMOS and exit setup. Exit Without Saving Abandon all changes and exit setup. Chapter 3 3-5 BIOS Setup Standard CMOS Features The items in Standard CMOS Features Menu include some basic setup items. Use the arrow keys to highlight the item and then use the <PgUp> or <PgDn> keys to select the value you want in each item. Date (MM:DD:YY) This allows you to set the system to the date that you want (usually the current date). The format is <day><month> <date> <year>. [day] Day of the week, from Sun to Sat, determined by BIOS. [date] The date from 1 to 31 can be keyed by numeric function keys. [year] The year can be adjusted by users. Time (HH:MM:SS) This allows you to set the system time that you want (usually the current time). The time format is <hour> <minute> <second>. 3-6 MS-7623 IDE Primary Master/ Slave & SATA1~6 Press <Enter> to enter the sub-menu, and the following screen appears. Chapter 3 Device / Vendor / Size It will show the device information that you connected to the SATA connector. LBA/Large Mode This allows you to enable or disable the LBA Mode. (Self-Monitoring Analysis & Reporting Technology) capability for the hard disks. S. M. A. R. T is a utility that monitors your disk status to predict hard disk failure. This gives you an opportunity to move data from a hard disk that is going to fail to a safe place before the hard disk becomes offline. Important IDE Primary Master/ Slave, SATA 1~6 are appearing when you connect the HD devices to the IDE/ SATA connectors on the mainboard. Floppy Drive A This item allows you to set the type of floppy drives installed. Halt On The setting determines whether the system will stop if an error is detected at boot. When the system stops for the errors preset, it will halt on for 15 seconds and then automatically resume its operation. Available options are: [All Errors] The system stops when any error is detected. [No Errors] The system doesn't stop for any detected error. 3-7 BIOS Setup System Information Press <Enter> to enter the sub-menu, and the following screen appears. This sub-menu shows the CPU information, BIOS version and memory status of your system (read only). 3-8 MS-7623 Advanced BIOS Features Chapter 3 Boot Sequence Press <Enter> to enter the sub-menu. Boot Device These items allow you to arrange the order that the BIOS uses to look for a boot device from which to load the operating system during the boot process. BIOS Flash Protection This function protects the BIOS from accidental corruption by unauthorized users or computer viruses.
