STARTING/STOPPING INSTRUCTIONS
WARM ENGINE START
1. Move ignition switch to the “RUN (I)” position. Place choke in PARTIAL CHOKE “ ” position (Figure 8). Hold the tool firmly in both hands and turn the tool ON. Always hold the trimmer, as shown in the illustrations, with one hand on the body handle and one hand on the front handle. A wide, sweeping motion, feeding the blade teeth through the twigs is most effective. A slight downward tilt of the blade, in the direction of motion gives the best cutting. To obtain exceptionally level hedges, a piece of string can be stretched along the length of the hedge as a guide.
IDLING/CARBURETOR ADJUSTMENT
1. Occassionally, due to atmospheric conditions such as altitude it might be necessary to make slight adjustment to idle speed. Insert phillips or flat screwdriver into access hole A (figure 9). Turn 1/8 turn clockwise to increase idle speed and 1/8 turn counterclockwise to decrease idle speed.
Fig. 9
Do not use the trimmer for cutting stems greater than 3/4”. Use the trimmer only for cutting normal shrubbery found around houses and buildings.
STOPPING THE ENGINE
Emergency Stopping Procedure. When it is necessary to stop engine immediately, DEPRESS the OFF “STOP ” switch until the engine stops completely (Figure 10).
