When the department code setting has been activated, the machine will remind each user to enter the department code before sending documents or making copies. Turning the department code setting on and off Dept. Protect :On / /Enter Press ENTER to save the setting. 1 Press Program key, C, 3, 0, 3, ENTER. Setting :Off / /Enter Note: If the department code operation is protected (see next page), the fax beeps briefly and then returns to standby mode. You will have to turn off the protection first, then repeat this step. Important: To turn the department code setting on, at least one department code must exist in your machine. 5 Sending a fax using a department code For this operation to work, two things must occur: The four-digit department code must exist on your fax machine. Protect Enter Passcode: 6296 To change one digit, press to move left or to move right until the cursor is under the digit, then use the numeric keypad to enter the correct number. 6 Press START again. 2 Printing the department time list for fax To print the list, press Program key, E, 1, 1, 2, ENTER. Note: If you want to clear the total counts of each department code, see Clearing the current department code list , below. 3 Clearing the department list for copy To clear the current total counts for each department code: Press Program key, *, One-touch key 12, ENTER. The total copy charge and total printed pages for each department code will be cleared. The department code will not be erased.
