CD5 Player Operation
There are four buttons situated on the right hand side of the front panel. Three of these buttons operate differently depending on whether the player is in load condition (after the PLAY button has been pressed). The player returns automatically to load condition either at the end of the last track of a program or when the drawer is opened and closed.
previous
In load condition searches the table of contents backwards, either one track at a time, or sequentially if you hold the button depressed. Then press PLAY to play the track chosen. In play condition mutes while searching the table of contents backwards, and then plays the track chosen without further command.
next
The next function operates in the same way as the previous function, but moving forwards through the disc instead of backwards.
stop
Stops the disc rotating, returns the laser to its inner position, and resets the player to load condition play.
play
Causes the player to enter play condition. The loaded disc will start to play, beginning with track one, unless another track has been selected. If you press play while a track is already playing, the track will be re-started. These functions are duplicated on the remote control which also provides many additional facilities. For further information please refer to the instructions on page 18. On the far right of the display are four indicators.
pause
Shows (when lit) that pause has been selected from the remote control.
time
Shows total time (in load condition) or elapsed time of track being played (in play condition).
repeat
Shows (when lit) that repeat has been selected when using the remote control. To the left of these indicators is an alpha-numeric display for track and index numbers OR the time in minutes and seconds, OR various system messages, (eg "Err" etc). The full stop on the right of the window comes on when the player receives an infra red signal from the remote control.
program
Shows (when lit) that a program has been stored. For further information please refer to the remote control instructions on page 18.
