[. . . ] You can use your CD-RW drive to load and start programs from compact discs or to play audio CDs while you work or relax. With the Microsoft® Windows® operating system, you can also play full-length CD-i movies. Additionally, with the included application software, you can write information to a CD. The following topics are covered in this document. [. . . ] Follow these steps to install Easy CD Creator. 1. Insert the NEC CD-RW software CD into the CD-RW drive. The Adaptec Master Setup screen appears. If the CD does not load automatically, do the following. T T 2. 6. Double click on My Computer on the Windows desktop. The Adaptec Master Setup screen appears. Select your language. The Adaptec Easy CD Creator Setup screen appears. The Choose Destination Location dialog box appears with the default path as C:\Program Files\Adaptec. T T 7. 8. Accept the default location or choose an alternate location. Click Next. Easy CD Creator is installed. When the installation completes, click Finish. A dialog box appears asking if you want to install Adobe Acrobat Reader to access the Quick Reference Guide. T T 9. Click No if Acrobat Reader is already installed on the system. Click Yes to install Acrobat Reader (it installs after the system restarts). Go to step 9 to continue. The Adaptec Master Setup screen appears. You can either select DirectCD or Exit. T T Select DirectCD to continue. Go to "Installing DirectCD, " step 3, to continue. Select Exit and click Finish if you want to install DirectCD at a later time. The system restarts and Acrobat Reader installs (if you selected Yes in step 8, above). Installing DirectCD DirectCD lets you write files directly to the CD in the CD-RW drive. Follow these steps to install DirectCD. 1. Insert the NEC CD-RW software CD into the CD-RW drive. The Adaptec Master Setup screen appears. If the CD does not load automatically, do the following. T T 2. [. . . ] While the CD creation does resume once the system comes out of the Save-to-File state, the message, "Errors reported by output device" appears, and the resulting CD does not function properly.
