UPnP can be enabled or disabled for automatic device configuration. The Enable UPnP check box is selected by default. If you clear this check box, and click Apply, the modem router will not allow any device to automatically control the resources, such as port forwarding (mapping), of the modem router. 0, December 2008

LAN IP Setup
If you intend to connect your modem router to a router, configure the local area network Internet Protocol (LAN IP) settings, as follows: 1. In the Advanced section of the main menu, select LAN IP Setup. Check the LAN IP address of your router, which is usually printed on a label on the bottom or at the rear of the device. Note how the address is comprised of four numbers separated by period characters. If necessary, change the LAN IP address of the modem router so that the two left-most numbers of the address are the same as the two left-most numbers of the routerâs LAN IP address, and the third number in the modem routerâs address is different from the third number in the routerâs address. For example, if the routerâs LAN IP address is the same as the modem routerâs default address (192. 1), change the LAN IP address of the modem router to 192. Tip: If you change the LAN IP address of the modem router, write the new address on a sticky label and attach it to the bottom of the unit. [. . . ] 0, December 2008
