Java Applications and GPS Enabled
Some Java applications can make use of your phone's GPS feature to determine the approximate geographical location of your phone. (See "GPS Enabled" on page 87 for more information on the GPS feature. ) However, for privacy reasons, you may not always want Java applications to access the location of your phone. Your phone protects your privacy by giving you the option to block all or some Java applications from accessing the location of your phone.

GPS Enabled
Your phone's GPS Enabled feature uses information from Global Positioning System (GPS) satellites orbiting the Earth to determine the approximate geographical location of your phone, expressed as latitude and longitude. The availability and accuracy of this location information (and the amount of time that it takes to calculate it) will vary depending on the environment in which you are using the GPS feature. For example, GPS location fixes are often difficult to obtain indoors, in covered locations, between high buildings, or in other situations where you have not established a clear broad view of the sky.
