Page 77 of the User's Manual 9 Taking Pictures Step 2 Ready the Camera · Hold the camera steadily in both hands, keeping your fingers and other objects away from the lens, flash, and AF-assist illuminator. · When taking pictures in "tall" orientation, turn the camera clockwise so that the built-in flash is above the lens. Step 3 Frame a Picture Frame the subject near the center of the monitor. Use the zoom buttons to adjust the size of the framed subject. W T L M W The zoom buttons Press v (k) to zoom in on the subject so that it fills a larger area of the frame. Press t (j) to zoom out, increasing the area visible in the frame. E 12 10 Taking Pictures Step 4 Focus and Shoot 4. 1 Press the shutter-release button halfway, stopping when you feel resistance. When using the self-timer, mount the camera on a tripod and the tripod on a flat surface.
