Nikon View 4 is not designed to browse images that are located on your hard disk. Please use the image browser software bundled with your camera. For this release of NikonView 4, iView Media Pro (Macintosh only) and Cumulus 5. 0 trial version (Macintosh and Windows) are bundled with Coolpix cameras. Cumulus 5. 0 Limited version (Macintosh and Windows) is bundled with SLR Digital (D1 series) cameras. [. . . ] The Nikon View 4 installer will uninstall any older version of Nikon View, if it is currently installed in your computer. Do not install any previous version of Nikon View, once you install Nikon View 4. Compatible Cameras This release of Nikon View 4 supports the following Nikon digital cameras through the digital I/O connection port (IEEE 1394 or USB) as well as reading images through a Compact Flash card reader. Please also note that two cameras, two card readers, or a camera and a card reader cannot be supported at the same time. Nikon View 4 also supports reading images from a Compact Flash card that contains images taken by these cameras: Nikon Digital Camera E950 (Coolpix 950) Nikon Digital Camera E800 (Coolpix 800) Nikon Digital Camera E700 (Coolpix 700) Nikon Digital Camera E900s (Coolpix 900s) Nikon Digital Camera E900 (Coolpix 900) 5. Using Nikon View 4 with the D1 series camera Please do not take a picture with the D1 series camera, if you have the camera connected to your computer and Nikon View 4 is being launched. Multiple Image sources are not supported Nikon View 4 does not support multiple image sources for simultaneous use. Image sources include Coolpix cameras and Compact Flash cards which were used in any Nikon Digital Camera. Please do not connect more than one image source to use with Nikon View 4 at any one time. Please do not put any CF card which were used in your Nikon Digital camera into your card reader when you have the camera connected to your computer. Delete a folder
An error will occur if you delete a folder using Nikon View 4, if the folder is located on a CF card that is present in a D1 camera that is connected to your computer. This occurs only if the CF card had been used in a card reader that was connected to a Macintosh computer. This does not occur with D1X and D1H cameras. Powering off the camera or ejecting the Compact Flash card Please do not turn off the camera and do not eject the Compact Flash card from your card reader or from the camera when Nikon View 4 is transferring images. Please quit from Nikon View 4 before you disconnect any cables from your camera. Please quit from Nikon View 4 and turn off the camera power before you eject a Compact Flash card from your camera. When a Compact Flash Card contains both Coolpix and D1 images If a Compact Flash card stores images taken by a Coolpix camera and images taken by a D1 series camera at the same time, Nikon View 4 may not display the photo information (such as shutter speed, f-stop and so on) correctly. Operation on the back panel LCD of the D1X/D1H The D1X/D1H allows you to modify some of the camera settings (delete, file protect, file hide, folder setting and card format) using the back panel LCD screen on the camera even when you have the camera connected with Nikon View 4. Although you can change these settings during this time, Nikon View 4 does not update theresults of those changes on your computer screen until the camera is re-connected.
11. Using Nikon View 4 after using Nikon Capture 1. x Before using Nikon View 4, please switch off your D1/D1X/D1H and after a few seconds switch it back on again. If your camera is connected to your computer using a cable and you have just used the camera with Nikon Capture 1. x, the camera may not record images correctly, if you continue to use the D1/D1X/D1H without switching it off. Card format Please do not format a Compact Flash card using Nikon Capture 1. x, when you are using Nikon View 4 and Nikon Capture 1. x at the same time.
