Menu functions Templates (Menu 2-5) You can view, edit, and erase the preset messages ('templates') that are available for writing a message. Scroll to the template you want to use and press (Read). To edit or erase the template, press (Options) and select the desired function. When you edit a template, pressing (Options) allows access to a further set of functions, including Send and Save. If you want to create a template from scratch, select one of the empty templates at the end of the template list. Message settings (Menu 2-7) The phone offers two kinds of message settings: settings specific to each setting group or 'set', and settings common to all text messages. Set 1 (Menu 2-7-1) 1 A set is a collection of settings needed for sending text and picture messages. You can, for example, send a text message as a fax, if supported by your service provider, by simply selecting the set in which you have earlier defined the proper settings for fax transmissions. Each set has the following settings: Message centre number, Messages sent as, Message validity. · Select Message centre number to save the phone number needed for sending text and picture messages. You can obtain this number from your service provider. · Select Messages sent as to choose the message format (network service). · Select Message validity to select the time that your messages are stored at the message centre (network service). Smileys (Menu 2-6) You can create smileys such as ":-)" that you can use when writing or replying to a message. Scroll to the desired smiley and press (Read). Change the smiley to your liking (press and hold for special characters). Pressing (Options) allows access to a further set of functions, including Save. 1. All rights reserved. 17 Menu functions Common (Menu 2-7-2) 1 The settings in this submenu apply to all text messages that you send, irrespective of the chosen set. The available settings are: Delivery reports, Reply via same centre. · Select Delivery reports to request the network to send delivery reports on your messages (network service). · Select Reply via same centre to allow the recipient of your message to send you a reply message via your message centre (network service). Select Topics to mark the topics as active or inactive, add a new topic to the topic list, or edit or erase the existing topics on the list. Select Language to choose the language for the messages. Only messages in the selected language will be shown. Voice mailbox number (Menu 2-9) You can save the phone number of your voice mailbox (network service).
